Plant care, as a chat

Your plantstext you.

Take a photo of a plant and it becomes a character: a little pot with a face, its leaves for hair. It knows its species, learns your home, and writes to you when it needs water, food or a new pot.

Calathea

a little dramatic

How it works

A minute to set up. Then it's a conversation.

1

Snap your plant

Potpal recognises the species and shows how sure it is — you confirm. Then a few taps: window, pot, when you last watered.

2

Meet its character

A drama-queen calathea, a stoic cactus, a royal monstera. Each plant gets a face, a voice and a name you can change.

3

It writes first

When it's thirsty, needs food, a turn towards the light or a checkup photo — it texts you. One tap: done, later, or "soil's still wet".

Characters

Every plant has a personality

The species leans the character — cacti are stoics, calatheas are drama queens — and a little chance makes yours unlike anyone else's.

Monstera

Royalty

Your queen thanks you for the water. You may now admire my new leaf.

Calathea

Drama queen

The air is SO dry. I might not survive the afternoon. (Mist me?)

Cactus

Stoic

Watered me again? Hm. Not that I'm complaining. Next time in three weeks.

Fern

Tender soul

Only if it's not too much trouble… a little mist would be lovely.

Ficus

Grump

Who moved me? I liked that window. Hmph. Fine. Water on Thursday.

Pothos

Sunshine

Three new leaves this month! We've got this. Turn me a quarter?

What it does

Care that adjusts to your home

Knows what it is

Species from a photo with honest confidence; one to three guesses, you pick. Care norms come with it.

Watering that learns

Starts from the species, moves with the light, the pot, the season and the heating — and with every "soil's still wet".

Photo diagnosis

Yellow leaves, spots, pests? One photo: the likely problem, a plan of tasks and a control photo in a few days.

Today, in one list

Everything due across all your plants, ticked off with one tap.

A history that grows

Every watering, checkup and new leaf, with photos — your plant's diary month after month.

Two messages a day, tops

Grouped ("Three plants want a drink"), never at night. Your plants talk — they don't spam.

Real conversations

Care that feels like texting a friend

The chats people screenshot and send to their friends.

Fern

unwell

Your tips are going brown 😟
I know… the radiator is right below me. Could you mist me every other day while the heating is on?
I've moved misting to every 2 days until spring.

Cactus

calm

It's been four weeks. A small drink would be acceptable.
Watered ✓
Adequate. See you in a month.

Monstera

happy

Spring has arrived, and so has my appetite. Fertiliser with the next watering?
Fed ✓
Splendid. Expect a leaf with three holes by May.

Our promises

A plant app that's nice to have around

Never shames you

A plant may sulk a little, but it never guilt-trips, never threatens to die, and is happy again after one watering.

Real plant science

Advice follows horticultural consensus; when unsure, it waters less — overwatering kills more houseplants than anything.

Your data stays yours

Photos and chats are used to care for your plants, never sold. Delete a plant or the whole account any time.

Questions

Which plants does Potpal know?+

Thousands of house and garden plants. It shows how sure it is and asks you to confirm; if it can't tell, you type the name and it learns the care norms for it.

How does it know when to water?+

It starts from the species' norm and adjusts for light, window side, pot size, drainage, the season and the heating period where you live. Every "soil's still wet" or late watering teaches it your home's real rhythm.

Will it spam me?+

No. At most two notifications a day, grouped, never during your quiet hours. Most days you'll get one — or none.

How does the photo diagnosis work?+

Send a photo of the leaves or the whole plant. Potpal names the likely problem with its confidence, adds a short plan of tasks and asks for a control photo a few days later, comparing it with the last checkup.

Can I use it without an account?+

You sign in with Apple, Google or e-mail — the same account as Foodoo and Fluffbook — so your plants, history and photos are safe if you change phones.

How do I cancel the subscription?+

In your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. We remind you two days before a free trial ends.
